Chapmanio,

I'm not sure why it isn't working using the number pad, but it's not something I can test at the moment as none of my computers have one (all macs with the smaller keyboard). If you manage to debug the component and find the issue though please let me know.

This is great thanks it works really well, but it doesn't seem to work with the number pad on the keyboard.

When searching for anything that starts with a number is you use the number keys along the top of the keyboard its fine, but nothing happens when you use the number keypad.

Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it? Thanks.

*Matt:*
That is simply a custom namespace so that the component can be used in MXML a little easier. It doesn't actually go and do a lookup on www.defusion.org.uk it's just a name (such as the default mx namespace which points to http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml which doesn't exist either).

in line 3 of your code you use xmlns:defusion="http://www.defusion.org.uk/mxml"

what is held at this location that makes defusion work?
What is its reliability?
Is there any way i could host this on my own server for my application to ensure its reliability and longevity?

This is a really cool component. I appreciate your work. Thank you! I noticed that for me at least, the inactivityResetTimeout seems to work as the total elapsed time, and not as the time since hitting the previous character. Maybe somehting to do with Flex builder 3. But I simply set it to 7000 and that give the user pelnty of time to type the whole string.

Thanks again!

My problems must have been related to the time delay. I was distracted as I was playing with it. :-)

*Jeffry:*
The is a time delay that resets itself, but that's only after a period of typing in-activity. The default is 1000 milliseconds which I feel should be more than enough, but it is possible to set this to anything.

Cool idea. It seems to work sporadically, though.

When I select the foxyComboBox and type "austri" it jumps to "Iceland" when I type in the I, not "Austria".

Is there some kind of time delay at which point it resets itself to start typing anew?
