I have a fairly long driving commute to work, about an hour and a quarter in the morning and an hour in the evening, so having a large MP3 player has been a godsend over the past couple of years.

I’ve tried a few pod casts in the past but haven’t found anything that has taken my fancy. As a regular reader of writings by Hal Helms my ears plucked up when he mentioned that he was starting a pod cast of chats with Jeff Peters about software and web development.

The first one I listened to this week was a light hearted look at the different frameworks, but what I really enjoyed this week were their chats about FLiP, Flip Out (RSS feed) and Tales from the FLiPt (RSS feed).

Both Hal and Jeff have a great presentation style that makes their pod casts clear and enjoyable to listen to, giving a good overview of the topic without ever getting lost in the technical details, which can be an easy road to go down when you’re a programmer.

<del>The only problem I’m having is that my podcast software (Doppler) doesn’t seem too keen on their RSS.</del> (Doppler now handles the RSS perfectly). Anyway I have this weeks edition all ready for my Monday commute, which I’m looking forward to now.
